Chairman’s message:

The 86th Annual I-Day Convention will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at The Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Hotel Downtown. As Chairman of this year's convention, along with my assistant, Mark Uhalik, we extend our warmest greetings and hope you will find this year's I-Day to follow in the tradition of excellence. I-Day has a long history of being the premier networking and educational event for the insurance industry in western Pennsylvania and we hope you will enjoy all of the scheduled activities.

We will commence with a continental breakfast and then invite you to participate in a selection of continuing education courses, each of which provides two CE credits. You may also visit our many vendors in the exhibit area who will be on hand to discuss their varied and valuable services.

Our luncheon speaker will be Dan Skowronski, Senior Vice President of MarshBerry. Dan Skowronski joined MarshBerry in 1994 as a Financial Analyst. He was promoted to Consultant in 1996 and played a major role in the preparation of appraisal reports, perpetuation plans and general consulting projects. In 2002, he teamed up with MarshBerry's information services department to create the web-based Value Estimator, a hands-on tool that enables insurance agencies to gain a better understanding of their value or to judge the merits of acquiring another agency. Promotions to Senior Consultant and Vice President over the next few years coincided with increased responsibilities in merger and acquisition work for various clients. Dan serves on MarshBerry's Board of Directors and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. In 2005 Dan was promoted to Senior Vice President. His current consulting activities involve mergers & acquisitions, ownership perpetuation, valuations and compensation consulting. He shares responsibility for training and developing financial analysts and consultants, as well as producing and delivering a wide variety of MarshBerry services.

This year's I-Day theme, Insurance: The Next Generation, is built upon the emerging need for a new generation of insurance professionals. As our industry ages, it is more important than ever that insurance agents, companies and vendors are all laying the foundations for the continued success of their operations after the current leaders have retired.
